Kevin holds a B.A. in Music with a minor in Psychology from UCF and became a certified Music Together® teacher at the beginning of 2025. He is also a certified Drums Alive® instructor. With a strong background in wind ensembles and choirs, he currently performs with the Licorice Sticks woodwind ensemble and clarinet orchestra, playing both Alto and Bb clarinet. He also serves as choir assistant for Joyful Voices and first connected with Joyful through volunteering in the summer musical four years ago.
Originally from Mexico City, Mexico and raised in North Florida, Kev’s primary instrument is the clarinet, though he loves all forms of music and movement. His favorite color is blue, and a fun fact is that before teaching music, he worked as a cook and chef! Passionate about music, community, and creativity, Kev brings energy and joy to every class.
